WATER DISTRICT & MUNICIPAL UTILITY CONTRACTOR · MAYFIELD, KY
We find where your system is losing water. Then we fix the line.
Leak detection, utility line construction, and system maintenance for municipal and rural water districts across western Kentucky, west Tennessee, southeast Missouri, and southern Illinois.
Every 2 minutes
a water main breaks somewhere in America — 6 billion gallons of treated water lost every day (ASCE)
1 in 3 miles
of US water main is now over 50 years old. Pipes fail, on average, at 53 (Utah State Univ., 800+ utilities)
>20% loss
is typical for small systems — and Kentucky caps recoverable loss at 15% for ratemaking
Main break after hours? The phone rings on Kevin's cell — nights, weekends, holidays. Crews can be rolling in as soon as 30 minutes after your call. (270) 970-0310
THE PROBLEM, SIZED HONESTLY
A hole the width of your little finger loses 60,900 gallons. Every day.
A single ½-inch leak at ordinary system pressure (60 psi) is 42 gallons a minute, around the clock. Published municipal leak tables put numbers on what that does to a district's budget:
IN A SINGLE WEEK
426,000 gal
≈ 21 backyard swimming pools, gone. Leaked into the ground. Roughly $1,300–$2,300 of treated water.
IN A MONTH
1.85 million gal
More than many small towns' entire water towers. Roughly $5,600–$9,900.
IN A YEAR
$66,700–$118,900
22.2 million gallons — the equivalent of draining a full 500,000-gallon water tower every 8 days.
And that's one leak. Professional acoustic surveys typically find a leak every 1 to 3 miles of main — and 87% of lost water is real leakage, not meter error. It's leaving through holes in the ground.
Figures: published municipal/rural water leak tables at 60 psi (City of Pratt, KS leak calculator; corroborated by Covington Water District, WA); dollar range shown at $3.00–$5.35 per 1,000 gallons produced or purchased — plug in your district's own rate and the math gets personal. Leak-frequency and 87%-real-loss figures: AWWA M36-derived vendor benchmarks and Bluefield Research. Full source list in the project research file.
SERVICES
What we take off your desk
Every service here exists because some version of it lands on a district manager's desk as a problem: a loss number the board questions, a valve nobody can find, a line that has to go in without an outage. Our job is to make yours easier.

WHY NOW
The pipe under your roads is aging out on schedule.
The average American water main is 45 years old — and mains fail, on average, at 53. A third of the pipe in the ground has passed 50. The oldest materials are going fastest: 86% of cast iron main is past the half-century mark, and cast iron and asbestos cement break rates jumped more than 40% in six years.
None of that is a reason to panic. It's a reason to know your system: where the old pipe is, which valves work, and where the water is already getting out.

WHY NOW
Survey. Report. Repair.
Survey
01
We listen to your system — valves, hydrants, service connections — and pinpoint what's leaking before anyone digs.
Report
02
You get it in writing: locations, loss estimates, repair priorities. A document built for a board packet or a funding application.
Repair
03
Our crews fix what we found — or hand the report to yours. Either way, you know exactly where the water went.
KENTUCKY · 807 KAR 5:066
If your unaccounted-for water is over 15%, Kentucky won't let you rate-base the loss.
Water loss above 15% comes straight out of your district's budget — the PSC won't let you recover it in rates. The PSC has investigated rural districts running above 35%; the worst have topped 70%. Every point above the cap is treated water you paid to produce and can never bill. A leak survey is how you get that money back.
WHO WE SERVE
Built for the people who answer to a board
Water districts & municipal systems
Leak surveys, line repair, and maintenance programs — scoped to small-system budgets and board calendars.
Engineers & project owners
Utility locating, potholing, and condition data for design. Marks you can trust before the plans are drawn.
Utility contractors
Hydro excavation and directional boring support on your job — expose the line without a blade near it.
WHEN IT CAN'T WAIT
After hours, the phone rings on the owner's cell. If it rings, he answers.
One number, twenty-four hours a day — only who picks it up changes. Nights, weekends, and holidays it's Kevin's cell. Not an answering service, not a dispatch queue that takes a message. In many cases, a crew can be rolling in as little as 30 minutes.
How long until we're standing over your break depends on where you are — we won't pretend otherwise. But Mayfield sits in the middle of this service area, with the interstate and parkway systems radiating from it in every direction, which is why we reach most of these systems faster than a contractor mobilizing from another part of the state.
THE CALL
One number, always
(270) 970-0310, twenty-four hours a day. After hours, it rings the cell phone the owner carries.
THE CREW
Rolling in 30 min
Travel time on top, honestly stated — it depends on your system's location.
